Aachen – Germany’s westernmost major city – was once a central hub of the Carolingians’ Frankish Empire. Emperor Charlemagne was a frequent and enthusiastic visitor. In the last two decades of his life, the Aachen Kaiserpfalz (imperial palace) even became in effect the monarch’s preferred residence. After his death in 814 he was buried here, and until the 16th century Aachen remained the coronation city of the German kings. When it comes to historical importance, very few German cities can rival Aachen – and today, this lively student city is a thoroughly fascinating destination for team events and corporate events.
From the Old Town, with landmarks such as Aachen Cathedral, the Town Hall or the Elisenbrunnen, to modern event complexes such as the Tivoli, home of Alemannia Aachen, or the Eurogress with the neighbouring Neues Kurhaus – Aachen offers fascinating sights and unusual venues for teams and companies.

There’s plenty to experience in Aachen – especially with our varied activities! For teams of explorers and active groups, an interactive GPS-Rallye through the historic Old Town with its impressive landmarks is a good fit. Explore the Aachener Hof and the lovely Frankenberger Viertel together. Along the way you’ll solve tricky puzzles as a team and take on exciting challenges. We’ve got great activities for indoor adventures too. In the creative workshop (our Kreativ-Werkstatt), you create a collective work of art made up of several individual masterpieces. It develops your painting skills as well as your ability to work and coordinate as a team. If your creativity leans more towards music, our drumming event is perfect for you. Both activities are flexible and can be adapted to almost any venue: the modern conference rooms of the INNSiDE by Meliá Aachen, the exclusive atmosphere of the Drehturm Belvedere or the cosy surroundings of the Fireplace Aachen. For sporty teams, our lawn curling event in the Kennedypark is a good choice. At the Drone Race at the Hangeweiher or in the Frankenberger Park you’ll enjoy a fun, futuristic team contest. The name Aachen comes from the Latin Aquis and means “place at the healing springs”. The Carolus Thermen are a perfect place to wind down together after an eventful day.

The Fireplace Aachen is at number 17 on bustling Theaterstraße, right in the heart of the city. This historic building, originally built in 1888 as the German Reichsbank building, was later converted into a charming café. Today it serves as a versatile event venue with a hall for up to 350 guests. The Fireplace combines historic charm with modern flair and offers flexible room options for a wide range of occasions.
