Course of the event: Insect hotel building event
As part of this online team event, your company makes a small contribution to regional nature and species conservation. Insects perform many important tasks in nature, such as pollinating plants or naturally combating pests. In doing so, they help to maintain the ecological balance. The insect hotels with their various breeding chambers serve as a shelter and hibernation aid for many species.
A charismatic live presenter will guide you and your team through the construction phase. Step by step, we build insect hotels together. In addition to untreated wood, only natural materials are used to fill the chambers: pine cones, bamboo sticks and wood wool. The different compartments appeal to different species. Wild bees, ladybugs, butterflies and lacewings feel at home in them.
A local beekeeper will be on hand to provide biological expertise. He takes the participants on a short excursion into the local vegetation. This is not only totally interesting (for example, did you know that bees dance to communicate food sources with each other?), but also very entertaining. Speaking of flora: in addition to the kits, the nature conservation packs contain organic seeds. Marigolds, cornflowers, daisies and lupins are not only a plus for local biodiversity, but also something to look at from April onwards.

We can also successfully organize the online team event via Google Meet, GoToMeeting or Webex.
Do we need tools in the home office?
Yes, a hammer and screwdriver are required to make the insect hotel. Other necessary utensils such as sandpaper are included in the packages.
Can we also experience the online insect hotel building event in English?
Of course, we can arrange the event for you in English.
Why is there a beekeeper on the call?
In addition to our moderators, a beekeeper accompanies the digital team event. He shares valuable background knowledge on nature and species conservation and introduces the potential inhabitants of the insect hotels.
Can we paint the insect hotels?
No, we do not recommend painting the insect hotels. Insects recognize treated paint by its smell and will avoid your insect hotel as a result. Toxic ingredients could also kill the insects and their brood.
What is included in the nature conservation packages?
The nature conservation packages that we send to participants as part of the online team event contain a wooden construction kit and filling materials for the insect hotel, such as pine cones, bamboo sticks and wood wool. An organic seed mixture is also included.
When do you send the experience packages for the online team event?
Within Germany, we regularly send parcels seven days before your event via DHL GoGreen. We send parcels to other countries correspondingly earlier.
Can we track our parcels?
Yes, as we send the shipments as insured parcels via DHL GoGreen, they can be tracked accordingly.
How long does the online event last?
We design the insect hotel building event individually according to your ideas and lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours.
