How Darts tournament works
Picking teams and warming up
We split everyone into teams, either beforehand or at the venue. Before play begins, each team can choose a catchy name and officially register it with the tournament management. Then there’s a short warm-up to get familiar with the boards, the darts and how the game works.
Preliminary round and how the tournament works
Now the darts tournament begins. Teams face off in exciting matches of 301 straight out. With three darts per turn, your team’s score has to come down to zero as quickly as possible. Precision, teamwork and nerve are the key to success. A professionally planned tournament takes the teams through a preliminary round, a knockout stage and the finals, with excitement and atmosphere all the way.
Final and award ceremony
As the tournament draws towards its close, fewer teams remain in contention and, while the losers’ bracket is played out in parallel, the other groups get ready for the finals. Which team will be company darts champion and take home the cup? Our cheeky commentators have something to say about every throw, keeping everyone entertained with banter from the sidelines until the moment comes: “And the winner is …”

How was it? Here’s what our clients say
These companies joined our events and created lasting memories. Read what participants say about their experience.
All of us at EKV Köln und Region really enjoyed our time with teamio. They were very professional and well organised. All the event equipment was tidy and well maintained. It showed us once again how valuable it is to have people who specialise in this professionally.
The team event with teamio was a complete success! The organisation was professional and smooth from start to finish. The team managed to create the perfect mix of fun, team spirit and motivation. Everyone was enthusiastic, got to know one another better and came back full of energy. The creative programme and the friendly support from the teamio team were particularly impressive. We can recommend teamio without reservation and are already looking forward to the next event!
I’ve taken part in several teamio events. The staff are brilliant, work with great passion and provide an entirely positive experience. I can recommend them without reservation.
Our whole team had a lot of fun, and the teamio staff were clearly enthusiastic too :)
We had a lovely day with the teamio team and, combined with the rest of our programme, our event was a success. The discussions with the teamio team were great from the outset too. The total price is quite high, but it was worth it.
The support beforehand was really good. Very friendly and reliable. The event itself was a lot of fun too.
Time to hit the bullseye together!

Frequently asked questions about our team darts tournament
How exactly does a teamio darts tournament work?
Once the teams have been picked and the rules explained, everyone warms up at the boards. Then the tournament begins, with plenty of matches to keep every team entertained. Our lively commentary keeps the atmosphere going throughout. Finally, the grand final puts everything on the line once more – the teamio darts crown.
Do you play in a team or on your own?
In our darts tournament, you and your colleagues are split into teams – it’s a team event, after all.
What are the rules of darts, and what does 301 straight out mean?
In darts, the aim is to bring the starting score of 301 (the pros start at 501) down to exactly zero by hitting the segments of the board. The teams take turns throwing three darts each at the board. Whoever reaches exactly zero first wins. Straight out is a game mode in which you may hit any segment to finish the game on zero.
How long does the darts team event take?
How long the event lasts depends on several factors, mainly the number of participants and how much time you have. We plan the tournament to suit. Most of our darts tournaments last between 1.5 and 2 hours.
How many participants is your darts tournament suitable for?
We stage our darts tournament for groups of up to 250 participants. We can provide 40 dart stations for this.
Can we hold the darts event outdoors too?
Yes. We also stage our darts tournament outdoors. Our portable canopies let us run the team event outside too. Good to know: our electronic dartboards need a standard 230 V power socket.
What is the oche, anyway?
The oche is the throwing line in darts, behind which players have to stand to throw their darts at the board. The oche is exactly 2.37 metres from the dartboard.
Does the winning team get a prize at the darts tournament?
Yes, the winners also get a present at a lively award ceremony: you can choose between a magnum bottle of Crémant and medals for the top three teams. Applause from the other teams is, of course, compulsory.
Can you run the darts team event in English too?
Yes, we can also run all our events centred on communication in English.
Why is your darts tournament a good idea for our Christmas party?
Our darts tournament is a gripping team event that combines fun, excitement and team spirit. With an engaging tournament and plenty of ways to adapt it, our popular darts event is a great choice for your Christmas party.
