Paddle against your colleagues – race for the win
We’re all in the same boat here – quite literally. Our dragon boat festival is all about coordination, team spirit and staying power. These long boats, which originated in the Far East, seat up to 20 crew members and can be steered at lightning speed across the water. But before the grand final, there are creative team challenges, practice races and closely fought contests on the programme.
After the welcome, you’re split into teams. First up, it’s time to get creative – a dragon boat isn’t complete without its dragon head, and there’s a team flag to design too. Colourful patterns, original designs or bold statements: anything goes. And of course, there’s a proper boat christening ceremony: song, dance or a creative performance make for a fitting send-off.
Guided by our experienced team, you’ll now learn everything about the right technique and a shared rhythm – because only those who paddle in sync can come out on top. Then, at last, it’s onto the water. Different types of race keep you challenged and entertained. A drummer from your own company sets the beat. Who will make it to the grand final?

How Dragon boat festival works
After a warm welcome, the participants are split into several teams at random. Then it’s time to get creative: the teams design their own team flag, devise a ceremony and christen their boat. Creativity is the name of the game – the more outlandish the design, the better.
Now training begins. Our experienced trainers give a thorough briefing on paddling technique and how the regatta works. Each team practises on land first, before heading out onto the water. Those first paddle strokes together help you get a feel for the right rhythm.
And then they’re off: the dragon boat crews race each other in different heats. One team member acts as the drummer and sets the beat while the others fight for every metre. Only the fastest teams make it to the grand final.
After the gripping regatta comes the award ceremony. The winning team is celebrated in style with Crémant and thunderous applause. And as a memento of the shared dragon boat adventure, the creatively designed flags can go on to decorate your staff canteen.
