Several cities in Germany like to call themselves a “cycling city”. But none is as closely associated with the term as Münster. The university city has more than earned its unofficial nickname: after all, Münster has more bicycles (around 500,000) than inhabitants (around 300,000). Still, it would be a big mistake to define a city with so much culture and history solely by its love of the trusty two-wheeled steed. Wherever you look, Münster is full of interesting possibilities for out-of-the-ordinary team activities.

If you’re after a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, a trip to the Werse is a good idea. Here you’ll find a natural setting that suits many of the events in our selection. At the raft-building event, you race your colleagues in a gripping contest – but not before you’ve built the floating vessel yourselves. Your creative side gets a workout too. And naturally, you’ll need to design your own flag before terrorising the seven seas. To go with it, Münster’s harbour promises maritime events right on the water, at venues such as Habourside or the MS Günther, the well-known event ship. As you explore the city together, there’s always something exciting to see, wherever you go. But three times a year, Münster really pulls out all the stops! The Send is Münster’s biggest traditional public festival and, at the same time, the biggest funfair in the Münsterland. More than a million visitors head to Münster’s Schlossplatz every year – and this major event could be just the thing for your next company outing too. But the city has plenty to offer in winter as well: no fewer than five different Christmas markets are scattered around the city in the festive season.
