Visit us at the LOCATIONS! trade fair in Duisburg on 6 October 2016!
On Thursday 6 October, LOCATIONS! Rhein-Ruhr returns to the Ruhr area. The venue is the Kraftzentrale at the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord. From 1901 until it closed in 1985, the former ironworks in Duisburg-Meiderich produced almost 40 million tonnes of pig iron, which was then processed further all over the country.
Back then, the 6,000 m² Kraftzentrale housed the machinery that generated the air blast supplied to the ironworks’ five blast furnaces. Today the park, which opened in 1994 and covers some 230 hectares, is an “anchor point” of ERIH (the European Route of Industrial Heritage) and a monument to the region’s industrial heyday. It’s well worth exploring.
The trade fair now takes place four times a year in the Rhein-Neckar, Stuttgart, Rhein-Main and Rhein-Ruhr regions and is growing in popularity. “The fair is the platform for extraordinary event spaces and event services,” says Nicole Weimer, organiser of LOCATIONS! Buyers, conference planners and travel and event managers make up most of the visitors, but the event is open to anyone interested. Other event service providers complete the line-up alongside exciting venues, selected hotels and excellent restaurants. Visitors can also look forward to a varied programme of talks.
This year, teamio is taking part for the first time. Managing director Johannes Dietrich is already looking forward to interesting conversations and new contacts: “LOCATIONS! is a great opportunity for us to connect with potential clients – and with people from distinctive venues and lovely conference hotels.” A large proportion of the team events on offer, he adds, take place alongside conferences, in or around the hotels. And of course, exchanging ideas and seeing familiar faces again is a welcome bonus for the crew at Teamio Event GmbH.
