250 trees for our events
As a sustainable provider of teambuilding and team events, Teamio Event GmbH plants one tree for every event it organizes. On December 17, 2018, the last trees were planted in a meadow orchard in Hagen (NRW).

The successful business year of the Essen-based event agency teamio has now been symbolically concluded with the planting of 250 trees: One tree for every team event held - that is the promise to its customers. The last 10 trees were planted with the expert support of the Biologische Station Umweltzentrum Hagen e.V.. They will become part of a meadow orchard, which will also be available to local residents and the local kindergarten in future. They are already looking forward to the native fruit varieties, the first of which are expected in early summer.
Together with our non-profit partner "PRIMAKLIMA e.V.", we planted another 240 trees in Bockau - the laboratory workers' village in the Ore Mountains - in Saxony. "Now every customer has their own tree," says event manager Claudia Makiela, who not only works in operational project management but is also driving forward the sustainable development of Teamio Event GmbH. "The planting certificates are also already being sent out - CO2-neutral by email, of course."

However, the topic of corporate social responsibility (CSR) at teamio goes far beyond the one event - one tree project: the support of the sustainability initiative fairpflichtet provides the event agency with a meaningful orientation framework in the form of ten guiding principles. These range from cooperation with local service providers and partners to the use of electricity from renewable energy sources and the sustainable use of equipment and materials.
"We also inspire customers on a relatively regular basis with our foosball building events, where foosball tables are first built and then donated to social institutions," explains Amit Lal, Managing Director, a good example of a meaningful charity event. Of course, it is also clear that the implementation of sustainable corporate management will be an ongoing process in the future: "We want to continue to develop and plant thousands more trees in the coming years."
