teamio joins the fairpflichtet initiative
Teamio Event GmbH has signed up to the sustainability code of the German-speaking events industry. The fairpflichtet initiative is a project launched by the German Convention Bureau (GCB) and the European Association of Event Centres (EVVC), with the aim of raising awareness of sustainability in the events industry. Here, though, sustainability means more than the environmental side: it covers social and economic sustainability too. The code sets out 10 guiding principles in total, including areas such as the common good, respect and social skills. teamio is delighted to support the initiative and to act as an ambassador for fairpflichtet as well. “This is a chance to win more supporters and to keep developing the sustainability movement in the events industry together,” predicts Amit Lal. Internally, teamio already uses electricity from renewable sources, runs a paperless office and draws on the benefits of working with partners—an approach that is particularly practical in logistics. This commitment will probably bring quite a few changes – including to the events themselves. We plan to use only reusable materials for our team events and team-building activities soon, to reduce waste even further.
