On Thursday, October 6, LOCATIONS! Rhine-Ruhr will be back in the Ruhr region. The venue is the power station of the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park. From 1901 until its closure in 1985, the former ironworks in Duisburg-Meiderich produced almost 40 million tons of pig iron, which was processed as a primary product throughout the country.
Back then, the 6,000 m² power station housed the machinery that generated the so-called "blast furnace wind", which supplied the five blast furnaces of the steelworks. Today, the 230-hectare landscape park, which was opened in 1994 and is well worth seeing, is an "anchor point" of the ERIH (European Route of Industrial Heritage) and a monument to the region's industrial heyday.
The trade fair format, which now takes place four times a year in the Rhine-Neckar, Stuttgart, Rhine-Main and Rhine-Ruhr regions, is becoming increasingly popular. "The trade fair is the platform for exceptional event spaces and event services," says Nicole Weimer, organizer of LOCATIONS! Buyers, meeting planners, travel and event managers make up the majority of visitors here, but the event is also open to other interested parties. In addition to exciting venues, selected hotels and excellent restaurants, other event service providers round off the range of exhibitors. Visitors can also look forward to a varied program of presentations.
This year, teamio is taking part for the first time. Managing Director Johannes Dietrich is already looking forward to exciting discussions and interesting contacts: "LOCATIONS! is a great opportunity for us to make contacts with potential customers - but also with special locations and beautiful conference hotels." A large proportion of the team events on offer take place at or in the hotels during the conference, he adds. Of course, the exchange of ideas and the reunion of "old acquaintances" are also a nice side effect for the Teamio Event GmbH team.
