Looking for ideas for your Christmas party?
We’ve put together six ideas for your Christmas party to make the end-of-year celebration in Aachen, Bonn, Cologne, or the Ruhr region a special team-building experience. The formats we’ve highlighted range from winter outdoor activities to virtual events for teams in different locations.
Why have a Christmas party with the company at all?
Showing their employees appreciation and saying "thank you" are the main reasons for companies to organize a company Christmas party. Aspects such as strengthening the sense of community, increasing identification with the company and boosting motivation are additional motives for a convivial end to the year with colleagues.
Of course, there are (almost) no limits to how you can organize your Christmas party; a suitable venue, festive decorations, and a delicious meal are a must. An accompanying entertainment program, gifts for employees, or a personal message from the boss are the icing on the cake.
"However, the most important thing is to fix a date early on," advises Claudia Makiela, Event Manager at Teamio Event GmbH. This includes both finding an internal date and reserving a suitable location. Whether in Bochum, Dortmund, Essen or the Rhine metropolises - the most popular restaurants are often already fully booked for Christmas parties in the middle of the year. As a regional event agency with a large network, we are happy to help you find a suitable location.
Here are six ideas for your Christmas party in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW):
Christmas event with bow and arrow: Torchlight archery
Our torchlight archery is one of the most popular Christmas events. When it comes to hunting for points with a bow and arrow together with your colleagues, it quickly becomes clear which team is more of a hunter or a gatherer. Torches and fire baskets stylishly illuminate the entire setting. The team event in the fresh air can of course be accompanied by hot mulled wine and delicious punch. Heated mushrooms and tents ensure team fun regardless of the weather during the cold season.
Exciting idea for your Christmas party - our Xmas iPad rally
Whether in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund or Essen - the major cities of North Rhine-Westphalia are particularly suitable for our Xmas iPad Rally. As part of this, small groups are on the hunt for points with iPads in mint condition, a wide range of expedition equipment, hot drinks and Christmas cookies. The groups earn points by solving a wide variety of tasks: Caches (hiding places) need to be discovered, puzzles solved and photos taken. The topic of (cross-team) communication is also a key to team success here. We would be happy to develop a customized scavenger hunt adventure for your company based on your specifications - for example, from the branch office to a restaurant of your choice.
Mulled wine expedition - the winter GPS adventure
Another great idea for your Christmas party in North Rhine-Westphalia is, of course, our Mulled Wine Expedition. We organize this team-building GPS event for you throughout the state. We divide your employees into small groups, which then get to tackle a variety of challenges along a route we’ve prepared in advance. Authentic winemaker’s mulled wine and homemade punch are already in the team backpacks at the start and will be refilled if the expedition goes well… After the awards ceremony, it’s time for the cozy part: the well-deserved Christmas dinner.
Your company Christmas market between Düsseldorf and Cologne
If you’d like to celebrate independently of public Christmas markets, why not host your own corporate Christmas market with your department or the entire company? It’s possible—and beautifully staged, for example—at Marienburg Monheim, located on the Rhine between Düsseldorf and Cologne. There, we’ll organize your exclusive Christmas party with rustic Christmas market stalls, a delicious winter BBQ, and accompanying drinks. In addition to our photo booth, other activities—such as our curling—can be easily incorporated into this very special Christmas party.
Cool company event for Christmas: our curling event
Curling is always fun! We stage an entertaining team tournament in the fresh air on our 10-meter-long artificial ice rinks. The curling sticks are thrown alternately in the direction of the stave, similar to a summer game of boules. With an exciting tournament mode and friendly supervision, our curling is a cool idea for your Christmas party in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Virtual Team Event for Remote Teams
If your colleagues work at multiple locations but still want to enjoy a virtual get-together at the end of the year, our virtual team events are just the thing. With an interactive online conference featuring a live host, a special gaming app, and some truly tricky challenges, participants working from home are in for an exciting experience. It doesn’t matter where your colleagues are located—whether in Aachen, Hagen, Münster, or Wuppertal—everyone across North Rhine-Westphalia can enjoy the virtual Christmas party together.
Plan Your Christmas Party in North Rhine-Westphalia
